1.How is this sketchnoting technique different to the traditional note taking?
Sketchnoting technique is useful for people to think creatively and intuitively express their ideas. The weaker logical structure of this note-taking technique makes people think less about what is the most important point but concentrate on what they are thinking at the moment. If people have good sketching skills, it will be really helpful for them to save time, write down more useful informations and review notes later.
Apparently, sketchnoting is more interesting than traditional note-taking technique. The whole page with words may make people feel tired and boring， so that they would like to spend more time to rethink and concentrate on the sketch notes.
2.How does this visual approach facilitate communication of your ideas? Conversely, how does it prevent it?
As a beginner, I always ignore some useful informations hidden in mass， disordered sketching and hard to find out what is the critical one, particularly when using grid and freeform ways to structure informations.
3.Personal challenges as a sketchnoter.
Poor sketching skill always makes me can’t express what I think exactly. This problem slows down my note taking speed and sometimes even makes me confused when I read the notes after the class. And as an international student, it’s pretty hard for me to understand the meaning of whole text and sketch notes at the same time. I did miss critical things in recordings and videos last class because I was busy to draw what I heard earlier. I feel I need to practice a lot after class to improve my sketching skill and listening.
