  1. Choose one of the objects you selected and describe how your initial understanding of its affordances changed over the course of the exercise?

For this tutorial I bring a measure spoon, this item is a spoon is for measuring flour and other stuff for recipes, it has a silicone cup that can be pull off for taking the element you want to measure. During the tutorial, we use some plastic cling warp and change the spoon making it a container.

  2. Given that affordances is a relational property between a person and an object, how did the manipulation of the object and the person’s abilities inform your understanding of the concept? Did it give you inspiration or insight for how to work with affordances as a designer? Discuss this through the specific objects you explored in the exercise.

The ability of the user or the lack of it influenced greatly the interaction with the object, in the tutorial we try to use the spoon with chopstick and even when we can lift the spoon it was difficult to used for the propose the design has in mind when it was designed, this makes me wonder if there are some special spoons or some different class of eating utensils for disabled people and how they work.

How did physically acting out help to explore ideas?

Bodystorming help Us to make the problems real, when you act you can be in the situation where the problem exist and because of this the designer can understand the expectations of the users.

Did you refine your ideas and solutions to the problem through bodystorming? In what way?

Yes, bodystorming make us see if the possible solutions We draw on paper will help the users in real life, for example We look for the distance between lines in the air plane, in paper it work but  after bodystorming we  realise that we need to improve the distance for the people to be comfortable.

What was difficult or challenging about bodystorming?

Bodystroming needs props, people, and space to recreate the situations, and there are some situations that can not be recreated.

Does bodystorming lend itself to certain types of problems?

Yes, it could be a good tool for some daily situations, but it cam be difficult to use in some other problems.

I received positive feedback for the report. With this practice I realise that there is always room for improvement and that is good to have another perspectives, I believe this kind of practice will make better my work.

3H33ow did taking the position of an Extreme User influence your thinking in relation to the design challenge? Was it different to how you usually generate ideas and empathy?

Facing a design challenge as a extreme user, made us think in a narrow way for the approach of the design filling only the needs of a specific group in the process. We choose the Romantics, and we focus the design in feelings, and it change on how we usually design things. When we design we rely in personal tastes and experiences.T his tutorial, help us to think as other and make sense of it.

Did any of the other design thinking techniques (design provocation cards, stories, storyboards, etc.) help you to work through ideas and collaborate with your group members?

Yes, the other design techniques where really helpful for creating the ideas and collaborate with the other people in the group.

Q: How is the technique different to the traditional note taking?

In traditional note taking you try to write down a close copy of the information you are listening , but in sketchnoting you have to make a visualization of this concept and then drawing it, making it easier to assimilate and easier to be remembered, because you have to use your own graphic language.

Q: How does this visual approach facilitate communication of your ideas? Conversely, how does it prevent it?

Sketching it’s a great way of interact and show your ideas to other people, a good sketch can overpass the language barriers and can explain abstract concepts in seconds, on the other hand it can be very confusing if the illustrations are not simple or iconic because they will giving room for personal interpretations.

Q: Personal challenges as a sketchnoter.

Speed, and clarity ;you have to be able to synthesize lots of information in short time and transform it in icons or other universal symbols for the people to understand your notes.
