1. Choose one of the objects you selected and describe how your initial understanding of its affordances changed over the course of the exercise?

One of the objects I selected was a toothbrush. In common sense, toothbrush is just a cleaning tool. My initial understanding is to assemble and restructure.Three little toothbrush after winding plastic to be fixed, look like a tripod.

2. Given that affordances are a relational property between a person and an object, how did the manipulation of the object and the person’s abilities inform your understanding of the concept? Did it give you inspiration or insight for how to work with affordances as a designer?

I realized that an object has more than one functions after being reformed and restructured. Toothbrush ignore its function can create limitless possibilities. This exercise inspired me as a designer, I should abandon the inherent thought and think something new. In addition, designers should be good at finding affordances on one product.
