What kinds of information and insights did it give you about the usability of the prototype?

During observation we notice area user get stuck on and through their facial expression we can link the area and where on the website they got stuck and tell what is their overall frustration level is. Through the thinking aloud we know exactly what is going thought them. Why they are frustrated and how they like to improve it. Therefore gaining insight into what is going through their mind.

 

What aspects of the technique worked well or were frustrating?

The Thinking aloud works very well as you get a mental walk through with the user. The observation evaluation works well in that it shows you how the user feel especially when they are frustrated. in a sense it can be used as an measuring stick to their thinking aloud. overall both technics works well and complimented each other well. the frustrating thing is i find user gets a little bit tense and start to act slightly more dramatic when they are been filmed therefore it can produce slightly exaggerated outcomes.
