How did physically acting out help to explore ideas?

Our group choose sleeping on aeroplane, before imitating the environment,we found that all of us have similar experiences, which may make it easier for us to generate ideas.By physically acting out, we found what else would bother the sleeping passengers as well as why those inconvenient things happened, how can they be improved based on our simulation.

Did you refine your ideas and solutions to the problem through bodystorming? In what way?

Yes, we came up with serval solutions for passengers to have some quality sleeping time. For instance adding a subsided space for passengers to put their feet in .But through bodystorming,we found if the passengers put their feet in,due to the limited room, they may have to keep a fixed position and this still not solve the problem that they have to give way to other passengers. So we have to reconsider this idea

What was difficult or challenging about bodystorming?

When we bodystorming, since different people have different sleep habits, we have some different opinions about which position is the most suitable one for a sleeping passenger. Also sometimes we came up with an idea but we kind of struggled with whether it was the best solutions or we did not know how to proceed. Moreover, another challenge is  we can not simulate the exact environment.

Does bodystorming lend itself to certain types of problems?

Bodystorming is an interesting activity, it’s an approach to understanding users better. However, for us,  we could not act out the users’ behaviours completely, sometimes we may have skipped to another problem, instead of acting the whole story.
