1) How did physically acting out help to explore ideas?
Bodystorming is effective a way to reveal problems. Because I can put myself into the scenario when acting it out. And try to empathize with user. Also when there is a problem, We “freeze! ” and have a quick discussion about the problem we just found. It is very interesting and productive.
2) Did you refine your ideas and solutions to the problem through bodystorming? In what way?
Yes, when act out idea out. we can find some hidden problem also it is a good chance to “feel” and pivot the idea. For example, initially we want to place a massage chair in the clinic but we found the space is limited, so we give up that idea.
3) What was difficult or challenging about bodystorming?
The most challenging that I found is sometimes it is hard for us to pretend the user because we don’t really understand the user and how they will behave in that situation. To solve this problem I think I will do user research before bodystorming, so I can have a good understanding before role playing.
4) Does bodystorming lend itself to certain types of problems?
Sometimes group member are very shy and can’t put them into the role. So it is important that member all willing and excited to do the bodystorming. Also the observer should be call “freeze!” at the right time in order to guide all others to discuss the important problem.
