1) How did this exercise help you build empathy with prospective users?

This is one real analysis of an interview data. I haven’t tried before. The aspects we followed while interpreting data, keen note on user interests, needs, motivations and frustrations helped us prioritize and categorize the data given. We had chances of discussing and suggesting data to be added under different contents by forming into teams and was able to look at the other groups work on interpreting data.

2) How did the clustering of information help you to understand user needs?

Since there was classifications given, we were able to sort down the user needs data. It was easy to cluster the data under three or more topics and thus was requiring little effort to form a hierarchy of data. We generally form a structure starting from primary to secondary to tertiary data, and here it was a reverse process and different but very much useful technique to collect data, understand, analyse and the primary being the inference kind of interpretation.

3) What was difficult or challenging with the technique? How would you do it better next time?

Time management was very challenging for me to read the whole interview and then interpret data under different categories. The reading part was actually harder for me. I should try being quick in managing reading and interpreting data eventually, if it’s next time.
