1) Describe your experience of creating personas from different users’ perspectives gathered in the interview data. Was there enough commonality between the 4 people interviewed to form a coherent persona? Or did it make more sense to create a second different persona?
For this task, there are four students from different countries in our group, we do not chose an activity from the tutorial booklet, we decided to focus on ‘going to the supermarket’ as the activity, because all of us are international students, every week we need to go to supermarket to buy some foods for cooking. According to interviewed each other, we create a profile for each student, and gather these feedback to compare similarities and differences of our behaviours by drawing continuum and multiple-choice set graphs. Therefore, we create a persona. I think the commonality is enough between four people to form a coherent persona, but it cannot make more sense to create a second different persona, because the feedback is not enough, and some answers are nearly different because of different culture background of our group members, moreover, I think maybe a group with balanced sex ratio will make second different persona.
2) Do you think your final persona(s) was successful in generating empathy with users? What would you change to make it better?
I think our final persona is a good beginning to help us to know more about generating empathy with users. Because of time limitation and members limitation, our persona is not exactly completion, for next time, I will enhance my interview skills, and do more preparation to make it better.
