Describe your experience of creating personas from different users’ perspectives gathered in the interview data. Was there enough commonality between the 4 people interviewed to form a coherent persona? Or did it make more sense to create a second different persona?
Based on the topic we choose – redesign the experience of shopping in supermarkets, our group consents on one persuasive persona. Since our group members’ backgrounds and lifestyles are generally the same. We found the pain points in common. But still, admittedly, we have different individual experience towards the topic. It is better to set up the second persona apart from the first one. Although the second persona might not represent the majority, it could reflect some of the current issues.
Do you think your final persona(s) was successful in generating empathy with users? What would you change to make it better?
No, I don’t think our final personas successfully reflect the current situation of users. There are bunches of different user groups existing in the current situation of supermarket shopping. Only base on data collected from our group member, it is difficult to cover all the user groups. Thus we should not constrain on our group members, but head to the supermarket doing the field trip research and gather the information that we need – target on different groups and set up different personas.
