Q1. Describe your experience of creating personas from different users’ perspectives gathered in the interview data. Was there enough commonality between the 4 people interviewed to form a coherent persona? Or did it make more sense to create a second different persona?

In our group, we choose “catching public transport” as our interview topic, and it is not hard for creating a coherent persona through interview data. We all are international students and do not have own car, so we have the similar choice and reasons for public transport, but it is not total same. For instance, there are three persons expressed that bus is their common public transport and one chose train. Low price and convenience are main reasons that we taking them. For bus, we all are dissatisfied for it cannot arrive on time and no seats sometimes. Our similar background and experience make our creating a coherent persona easily, and our different frequency of taking public transport also makes sense to create a second persona.

Q2. Do you think your final persona(s) was successful in generating empathy with users? What would you change to make it better?

Yes. I think our final persona is successful, but the main target users are university students, especially for international students. The reasons for our persona choosing public transport are combining our advantage and disadvantage for public transport. It will build empathy with common university students. However, this final persona is created by our 4 persons’ interview data, and our experience is too similar, so it is not comprehensive. If we want to get more complete persona, we need to collect more information.
