1) How did this exercise help you build empathy with prospective users?
The Exercise help me to quickly draw the key points in the interview with prospective users.
The interviews contain a lot information, it is hard to conclude and emphasis. But using the note taking technique that we tried in class, it is much easier to link different information together and draw the main appealing of our prospective users.
2) How did the clustering of information help you to understand user needs?
Through clustering information from different interviews, it helps our team to analysis what is the majority need of our prospective users. We found many similar travel habits among our users, such as the habit of using computer to search for destination information. Otherwise, it will be much more time costing to look at the interviews one by one and trying to find out the similarities between them.
3) What was difficult or challenging with the technique? How would you do it better next time?
One thing we think is hard is to categorize the notes into suitable groups. We all took different notes and did not want to waste any, so we tried to write more notes in order to fill into. Then we realize it is too time wasting since we have already decided the key demand of our prospective users. Another challenge is to conclude each column, and to join columns under one big (pink) category. Next time, since we now understand what we are doing, I believe we could do this more efficiently.
