1. Choose one of the objects you selected and describe how your initial understanding of its affordances changed over the course of the exercise?

We need to think about all affordance on the tools we bring to the lab, which are chopsticks scissor, we try to analyze the shape of them and brainstorming on how can it be used as another using. Affordance that I found are toothbrush, grabbing it stable during the dark situation.

2. Given that affordances is a relational property between a person and an object, how did the manipulation of the object and the person’s abilities inform your understanding of the concept? Did it give you inspiration or insight for how to work with affordances as a designer? Discuss this through the specific objects you explored in the exercise.

We did manipulation between toothbrush and aluminum foil. Firstly, we wrapped the toothbrush with aluminum foil, then we changed the shape of it to fit holding within user’s hands and test whether it is easy and comfortable to be used.

Next is the abilities change, for example, the user has to close his eyes to pretend to be a blind person. As a designer, we need to think different situation when the user encounter  and how to solve these issues.
