Choose one of the objects you selected and describe how your initial understanding of its affordances changed over the course of the exercise?

Because we need to think about all affordance on the fork, I try to analyze the shape of the fork and how can it be used to another activity. Affordance that I found are grabbing food, holding, it can be used as catapult to throw things, and the sharp edges can be used to dig.

Given that affordances is a relational property between a person and an object, how did the manipulation of the object and the person’s abilities inform your understanding of the concept? Did it give you inspiration or insight for how to work with affordances as a designer? Discuss this through the specific objects you explored in the exercise.

I was doing manipulation between spoon and aluminum foil. Wrapping the spoon with aluminum foil change the shape and texture which now it can be used as a fan. And when the person abilities change, for example, they cannot use their arm, the affordance of being fan can’t be used. Each person has different capability handling the object which gives different affordance. As a designer, we need to think various possible of ways on how the user think and use the product so that the user will not mistakenly use it.
