1. How did thinking in terms of shots and scenes influence your approach to communicating your design concept?

Thinking interns of shots and scenes is direct way to express my ideas and let others understand more clearly. When making storytelling work, it is important to constitute a whole structure and arrange detailed contents. For example, our group intend to design a  pair of shoe that can help women escape faster from danger. I planned to make a video to represent the features of this pair of shoes like appearance, functions, speed and affordances by using the hand-held shots, quick shots and close-up shots.

2. What motivated your choice of storyline structure? Can you think of an exemplar from a film that uses the same structure?

Our storyline structure according chronological oder, because the design proposal is about a self-defence products. We need a whole story to describe an accident so that all features of the product can be represented. Therefor, the storyline structure need to include who, where, when, what ,how and why. Meanwhile, the movie “Kingsman-the Secret Service” inspired us.

3. What choices did you make about audience and style? Were they related?

We planned to make the whole video from first perspective. I have made a video by the same way, and I found it was a good way to help audiences understand emotions and details. In this case, first perspective can help audiences feel the same tension and realise the purpose of the product.
