Describe your experience of creating personas from different users’ perspectives gathered in the interview data. Was there enough commonality between the 4 people interviewed to form a coherent persona? Or did it make more sense to create a second different persona?

For this tutorial, we discussed on Shopping habits of individuals. The topic chosen by us was “Going to Super Market”. We first interviewed each other to gather information and user perspective.  We started with questions like name, age, occupation, nationality to gain information about user demographics.

Being international students, we could discover some commonalities. This was explored by creating variables on different interest. Furthermore, we grouped the individuals and could filter the profile to create a persona.

Persona is different from user profile as it is a collective representation of similarities from a group of users. Also, the Persona is a fictitious character which we tend to give some real life feel.

2)Do you think your final persona(s) was successful in generating empathy with users? What would you change to make it better?

Persona is a created by collecting common attributes from a group of demographics. This exercise gave us insight to the usefulness of conducting interviews.

Our activity was successful in large extent in generating empathy with users who like shopping at a supermarket.

To critique our work, we had similar interest and had a related lifestyle, so it was simple for generating a persona. We lacked broader demographics which could have helped us finding more similar or different views of people and generating various new variables and giving our activity a completely different outlook.

I would have created more variables to generate more grounds of grouping interests.
