1.Describe your experience of creating a single persona from different users’ perspectives gathered in the interview data. Was there enough commonality between the 4 people interviewed to form a coherent persona? Or would it have made more sense to create a second different persona?
There are 4 members in our group with one female with design background and three males with IT background. We chose the topic “going to supermarket” and collected data from pair interviews. Then, mapping the collected data through continuum and multiple-choice. Through observations, we found that the four of us could be divided into two groups in terms of commonalities. Although we only generated one persona because of the time limitation, I believe that it would be better if we create a second different persona as the two groups contains so many distinctions.
2. Do you think your final persona was successful in generating empathy with users? What would you change to make it better?
Overall, the persona we created does successfully build empathy with one group of users. It represents certain behavioural patterns and expressed through persona narratives. However, it is still not enough for the “supermarket” project and needs to include more behaviour variables and interviewees to be more representative. A second or third persona may be necessary as well. I hope to have more time to prepare for the research (no useless questions) as well as longer time to analyse the data next time.
