1). Describe your experience of creating personas from different user’s perspectives gathered in the interview data. Was there enough commonality between the 4 people interviewed to form a coherent persona? Or did it make more sense to create a second different persona?
We chose “going to the supermarket” as our group discussion topic and shared our personal shopping experiences. Firstly, we created some reasonable circumstances about going to the supermarket, such as ‘How often do we usually go to the market?’, ‘What do you usually buy?’. Secondly, we answer the questions one by one. Finally we made a table to show our preferences.
Carol, Eve, ST and I are all from china, we have the same background culture and similar ages, but we still have different preferences about shopping. Fortunately, Carol and ST have more similarities, Eve and I seems have more common, so we decided into two pairs. In the end we made two persona, because Claudia told us it is very crucial to make the persona looks like the person is real.
2). Do you think your final persona(s) was successful in generating empathy with users? What would you change to make it better?
I think our personal is a kind of success in summarizing the girls like us, who are Asian, international student. However I think there are some users unlike us. I think if there is enough time we should go outside to interview some other kinds of people. To make our persona more vividly.
